Ever wondered how those celebrities all seem to have stunning teeth when they smile? Well, dental science and technology have been progressing as rapidly as the personal computer and smartphone.

Over the past decades, dentistry has seen many innovations in treatment and equipment, and Invisalign Welwyn is probably one of the most dynamic advances in orthodontics. At Neel Dentistry, we pride ourselves on staying abreast of new technology and regular training in the latest techniques.

What conditions can be treated?

Misaligned teeth can cause you all sorts of problems if they hinder your ability to chew your food properly. This means that your stomach has to work twice as hard to digest your food, which can cause stomach cramps and discomfort. Gaps in your teeth or an overcrowded mouth can cause bad bacteria to form, which can even lead to heart disease. Overbites and underbites are other conditions that can also cause many health problems. Protruding teeth can cause a lack of self-confidence and chewing difficulties too.

Not necessary to suffer any more

All these advances in dentistry have made it possible to help solve these conditions so that it is no longer necessary to suffer from these problems. Even the traditional metal braces, which are still used today, have undergone a transformation, making them more comfortable and effective.

Numerous other braces using ceramics that can mimic the colour of natural teeth have also been introduced. Furthermore, braces that fit behind the teeth rather than in front are also very popular today because they are more discreet. However, the most advanced treatment has been the introduction of aligners, and Invisalign Welwyn is at the forefront of this technology.

Invisalign: a new dawn

Invisalign Welwyn has revolutionised the teeth straightening technique by using a series of aligners that can gradually move your teeth into the desired position. These aligners resemble gum shields and can fit over your teeth. They are comfortable and made of a clear dental material that consists of a combination of polyurethane resins.

Quick and easy procedure

You will need to attend an appointment with our dental team at Neel Dentistry to allow us to assess whether Invisalign is a suitable treatment for your particular condition. We will take x-rays and a 3D scan, and at that stage, we can even show you how your smile will look after your treatment.

Following the assessment, we will present you with suitable Invisalign options that can straighten your teeth, and our team will then send your information to Invisalign so that a series of differently orientated aligners can be produced. Once we have received these aligners, we will call you in for an appointment to fit the first aligner onto your teeth. For maximum beneficial results, you will need to wear each aligner for at least 22 hours a day. You may remove the aligners before eating, brushing or flossing. The treatment period will depend on your condition but should be anywhere between 10 and 12 months.

Results

At the end of the treatment, we will supply you with a retainer, which must be worn for a few weeks to allow your teeth to settle into their new positions. Your teeth will now allow you to smile with confidence.
