White spots can be caused in a variety of ways as follows:
By changing the light refractions of the white spot, ICON makes the lesion look just like sound enamel.
A process of infiltration is used to blend the white spots with the rest of the tooth.
The treatment is minimally invasive and does not require any drilling or other significant tooth preparation.
For large stubborn lesions this can be adjunctive but it’s always best to try icon first.
Icon is also a fantastic way of stopping early cavities inbetween teeth from developing and thus prevent fillings from progressing.
If The Dentist finds such lesions we may suggest this and again as above this is a painless procedure where the icon infiltrate acts a bit like when you repair a stone chip in your car window and inject the resin to fortify the defect.
