With clear aligners like Invisalign in Welwyn, your dentist will provide you with a series of custom-made, slightly different aligners that fit over your upper and lower teeth.
The aligners look like clear, flexible retainers and are removable. You’ll need to wear each set for about 1-2 weeks before you go on to wear the next set.
Once we have determined that Invisalign is the right treatment for your needs we will start by taking a scan of your teeth using a state of the art digital scanner. This will provide us with a 3D model of your teeth on the screen within minutes. You will be able to see this and see a simulation of what the results of your treatment could look like even before you start your treatment!
If we are happy with how this looks we go on to create digitally formulated treatment plan showing you a 3D animated treatment plan called a ‘Clin Check’.
This will allow you to see virtual representation of your teeth, before, during and after your treatment. You can visually see how your smile will transform over the treatment to create your perfect smile.
The scan of your teeth and 3D treatment plan will be used to custom make your aligners. We’ll give you a series of aligners to wear every day and change at home – on average every 1-2 weeks (as directed by your Dentist).
The aligners gradually and gently move your teeth into a more desirable position. To get the best result, you should wear the aligners for 22 hours a day, but you can remove them to eat, drink, brush your teeth, and when you floss.
We’ll invite you back to the practice around every 4-6 weeks to monitor progress and give you your next setof new aligners.
Once treatment is complete, don’t stop smiling! To keep it just how you like it, you’ll take away retainers to wear at night to maintain your new smile
Invisalign in Welwyn can be used to treat a variety of concerns, including teeth which are crooked, crowded or with gaps. It is up to your treating dentist or Orthodontist to decide after assessing you, to recommend the type of orthodontic treatment you will benefit from the most.
It really depends on how much work there is to do and how far your teeth need to be moved.
Invisalign treatment can work in as little as a few months but can also takes around a year to 18 months if your case is more complex.
As there are no metal wires or brackets there is no chance of irritation to your lips and cheeks. Most patients experience a temporary minor discomfort at the beginning of each new stage of treatment, i.e when they change to a new aligner. This is normal and is typically describes as a feeling of pressure.
It is a sign that the invisalign aligners are working sequentially to move your teeth to their final destination. This discomfort typically goes away after about a day.
The cost of Invisalign treatment can range from around £3,000 to £6,000, depending on the complexity of the treatment and the type of near-invisible braces you have, finance options might be available to help you spread the cost.
